Commentary:

Paul McAnulty and Jon Knott continue to show their displeasure at being left in AAA. And they’re taking it out on AAA pitchers.

I mentioned below in my Mid Season Top Prospects that Luis Cruz needed to work on his strike zone control. So tonight Cruz went out and worked 2 walks.

Jeremy Hunt hasn’t gotten a lot of love from me. He was drafted in the 28th round this year. Like other guys the Padres picked up this year, Hunt packs a potent bat. He led the underrated Big East conference in HR this past season. He’s likely overmatching the competition in Rookie ball (a lot of the players in rookie ball just graduated from high school in May/June.

You all know what I think of Cedric Hunter.

I was STOKED to see Aaron Breit’s line. I have high hopes for this kid. He might be my favorite non-Carrillo pitcher in the Padre organization.
