Commentary

Forsythe: 38

During the off-season, we heard that Latos would be pitching in Lake Elsinore for the season. After a minor pre-season injury (and a 2008 season where Latos tossed only 56 innings) the Padres sent Latos back to Low-A Fort Wayne. If he keeps pitching like he did in his 2 seaon-opening performances (combined: 11.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 12 SO, 0 HR) he’ll be pitching in Lake Elsinore shortly.

Herr gave up a hit! Herr gave up a hit! Stop the presses! That makes 3 hits in 13.1 innings. Cut the guy! Who cares that he’s only given up 6 combined hits and walks in those 13.1 innings with a 0.00 ERA.
