Blanks Impresses in LF

At this point Blanks is just taking pre-game fly balls in the outfield. And while Fuson doesn't seem overly impressed...

Fuson described the results as "OK."

...and fellow Portland Beaver, Drew Macias does seem impressed...

"I think he's going to be fine," said Macias, who has played for both Triple-A Portland and the Padres this year and is rated by Padres manager Bud Black as the best all-around defender among Padres outfielders and prospects. "He's got enough athleticism, especially for his size."

...we can be impressed that Blanks is simply taking fly balls there at all. It would be best if we can find a way to get Blanks & Gonzalez bats in the lineup together - or if we can spin Blanks off for pitching (and having Blanks as tradebait for two positions is better than one).
